With "Drag Racing 90" you relive some of the truly great achievements in NHRA Championship Drag Racing history, not the least of which was John Force's breakthrough season. The driver who would go on to become the face of NHRA drag racing took his first National Championship by a mere four rounds over Ed McCulloch.
The 1990 Top Fuel season opened with Lori Johns becoming the darling of the press room by winning her first Top Fuel title at the season-opening Winternationals, but it was Joe Amato who out-slugged Gary Ormsby in a classic season-long battle to take one of his six NHRA titles. Kenny Bernstein and Don Prudhomme also joined in on the Top Fuel fun in 1990.
In Pro Stock, Darrell Alderman and Bob Glidden ended up one and two in a super-competitive field. Alderman took the title with just four event wins, while Glidden grabbed just three. Six other drivers won Pro Stock events in 1990. And there is the sentimental look back in Pro Stock Motorcycle as two of the greats, John Myers and Dave Schultz, led the pack.
The 1990 season was a fitting opening to what would be a glorious decade of NHRA competition ... and it is all captured in NHRA's own "Drag Racing 90."
